This was my second hike with Portland Outdoor Adventurers Club, a meetup.com group. The first was at Dog Mountain across the river on the Washington side of the Gorge. Where are the photos from that? That is a very good question. I will work on that. The Dog Mountain hike had been cold and rainy. The Wyeth Trail was cloudy, and cold at the top, but at least no rain. Welcome to June and July in northern Oregon. Again, as with the first hike, I met very friendly people and had a great time, while also seeing scenery and getting exercise. What is better than that?

The hike started in Wyeth Campground up top in that darker green rectangle and turned back at North Lake at the south edge of the map.

What a nice group of people they were. You never know exactly who will be there because different people sign up and half do not show. It sure is a great way to meet people without stupid bars or some dating site. I love getting out and already explore everywhere anyway. It is perfect to do it while also getting to have good conversations and company.

The weather still was not what I had hoped for. Even though there were occasional sun breaks and the lower trail was comfortable, the top up toward the lake was FREEZING cold. I had to get out hat and gloves and was still cold. It was worth it though and a great hike. I recommend it. It is not a steep trail, just steady and comfortable. I could have jogged some of it. I would like to see that little lake a gain in the sun.

I skipped extra commentary for now because I am WAY behind on editing and posting. Thanks for looking.
