I am very excited about this. I have done some playing with time lapse in the past, but never with a camera I could leave outside. I am now using the Brinno GardenWatchCam. It is one of the best toys I have ever owned.
Here is my first ever YouTube video, complete with HD playback options
*IMPORTANT* for inexperienced YouTube viewers (my parents among others):
After you start playing the video, the resolution will appear in the lower right hand corner. It will probably default to “360p”, which is terrible. Click on that and increase the resolution to at least “480p”. You will see that HD settings are also available, 720p and 1080p. If you have a fast enough computer try those. To view the HD versions, you must click the four little outward arrows to the right of the resolution, to go full-screen, otherwise the video is stuck small inside the constraints of the player. I hope this helps some of you.
The video was taken from the roof of my business in Cornelius, OR and covers about 12 hours. I used the custom setting to have the camera capture one frame every 30 seconds. The date at the bottom is correct but the time is not. I will work on fixing that next time.
